The Blind Guitarist

This is an old painting my friend has of a blind guitarist busking along Swanston St in Melbourne, painted in 2007. I like the fresh and loose approach to applying the paint which I am aiming to revisit in my paintings of Australian landscapes.

Mangroves

This painting of Mangroves along the Brisbane River at the City Botanical Gardens is the first picture of a new body of work I am creating about the Australian Landscape. I was able to enjoy listening to trumpet and bag pipe music coming from boats moored along the river whilst I painted. The darker tones in this artwork suited the over cast feel of the day as the wind and rain began come in during its completion.

My Old TSB on Elizabeth St.

Yesterday while walking through Brisbane city I was happy to see that one of my old traffic signal boxes was still up on the corner of  Elizabeth and Albert St. This painting is a self portrait of me looking out of my studio window over the city in 2005.

Campbell Newman With My TSB

The Courier Mail published a picture of Campbell Newman walking past one of my Traffic Signal Box artworks in Ashgrove on the 23rd of Oct. I do believe they used the question mark in the artwork strategically for this Article.
